Crawlability
SEOWhether Google can find and walk through every page on your site.
If Google's crawler can't discover or access a page, it won't appear in search — no matter how good the content is. We make every important URL discoverable and index-ready.
Canonical Tag
SEOTells Google which page is the real one when you have duplicates.
When two URLs show similar content, the canonical tag points to the authoritative version so ranking power isn't split and duplicate-content issues are avoided.
XML Sitemap
SEOA roadmap file that lists every important page for Google.
A properly structured sitemap tells crawlers which pages exist, how often they change, and which matter most — so the right pages get prioritized.
Robots.txt
SEOA small file that tells crawlers which pages to skip or allow.
Misconfigure it and you can block your whole site from Google — or expose pages you meant to hide. We set it to allow what matters and protect what doesn't.
LLMs.txt
SEOHelps AI like ChatGPT and Perplexity understand and surface your site.
An emerging standard that gives large language models a clean summary of your content. Optional today, but increasingly how AI assistants choose what to recommend.
301 Redirect
SEOPermanently sends visitors and Google from an old URL to a new one.
When a page moves, a 301 redirect preserves link equity and authority so you don't lose rankings — unlike a broken 404.
Link Equity
SEOThe ranking power a link passes from one page to another.
Not all links are equal. High-authority backlinks and clean internal links pass equity that lifts the linked page in search results.
On-Page SEO
SEOEverything you optimize on the page itself — titles, headings, and content.
Title tags, meta descriptions, header hierarchy, internal links, keyword placement, and structured data all send signals to search engines about what the page is for.
Technical SEO
SEOThe behind-the-scenes setup that lets Google read and rank your site.
Speed, mobile responsiveness, crawlability, HTTPS security, and JavaScript rendering — Google rewards sites that load fast and work flawlessly on every device.
Core Web Vitals
SEOGoogle's speed and experience scores — how fast your site feels.
Metrics like Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) measure load speed and stability. Faster sites rank higher and convert better, especially on mobile.
E-E-A-T
SEOGoogle's trust check: Experience, Expertise, Authority, Trust.
Content that shows real experience and credible expertise earns trust — and higher rankings — especially for local service businesses where reputation matters.
Schema / Structured Data
SEOHidden code that helps Google understand your content and show rich results.
Schema markup describes your business, services, and FAQs in a machine-readable format so Google can show stars, FAQs, and map details in results.
NAP Consistency
SEOKeeping your Name, Address, Phone identical everywhere online.
Mismatched NAP data across directories confuses Google and hurts map rankings. We keep your listings consistent for stronger local visibility.
Google Business Profile
SEOYour free Google listing that shows calls, reviews, hours, and map position.
Often the first thing customers see. We optimize your GBP — photos, posts, Q&A, reviews — so you appear in the top 3 map results where most clicks happen.
Map Pack
SEOThe top 3 map results Google shows for local searches.
For 'near me' queries, the Map Pack gets the majority of clicks and calls. Local SEO is the work that gets you into those three spots.
Keyword Research
SEOFinding the exact words customers type when they need you.
We map high-intent search terms, group them by topic and intent, and build pages and content that match what real customers are searching for.
Alt Tag
SEOText that describes an image for Google and screen readers.
Alt tags help images rank in Google Images, improve accessibility, and give search engines context when they can't 'see' the picture.
Pre-rendering / Static HTML
DevSaves your pages as plain HTML so Google can read them instantly.
Many modern sites hide content behind JavaScript that crawlers skip. We output every URL as clean static HTML so every page is crawlable on first load — the core of the SEO Upgrade.
Astro
DevThe fast framework we build sites on — built for SEO.
Astro ships zero JavaScript by default and renders every page to static HTML at build time. That means faster loads and full indexability without the JS empty-shell problem.
Domain
HostingYour web address — e.g., shelbywebco.com.
The domain is the name people type to find you. We help secure it, keep it renewed, and point it correctly to your hosting.
Hosting
HostingWhere your website lives on the internet — the server that serves it.
Good hosting keeps your site fast, secure, and online. Cheap hosting slows you down and hurts rankings when the server is sluggish or down.
SSL / HTTPS
HostingThe padlock that makes your site secure — required by Google.
SSL encrypts data between visitor and server. Sites without HTTPS show 'Not Secure' warnings and rank lower. We provision and renew it for you.
CMS
DevThe system you use to edit your site — without touching code.
A content management system lets you update text, photos, and posts yourself. We build on lean, secure setups so you can edit without breaking SEO.
CTA / Conversion
DesignA clear next step that turns a visitor into a lead — Call, Book, Request Quote.
A conversion happens when someone takes action. We design prominent calls-to-action and remove friction so more visitors become customers.
URL Structure
SEOHow your page addresses are organized — short, clean, and descriptive.
Clean URLs like /services/roofing/ are easier for people and Google to understand than long parameter strings. They also help with crawlability and sharing.
Seen a term elsewhere on the site? Every dotted underline links back here — e.g., Canonical Tag.
